this was my THM Admin introduction and I wanted to share it here on my blog as well.
CORI WHITE... I am a professional violinist, a teacher, and a Preacher's wife who married my "Boaz" late in life. I then had three little ladies in five years. I was vaccine injured during seventies resulting in battling multiple auto immune disorders since childhood. I was reared hardcore "whole grain Jane" in the motherearth 1970's era, and I grew up working in whole grain bakery family business. As a Natural cook & penny pincher cooking is my "love language.
" After the birth of my last child i developed systemic candida & thrush which wrecked my health causing me to suffer from many fibromyalgia symptoms and adrenal fatigue. My journey to health came as desperation, step by step as God led me to the needful changes from various diets through years PRISM, weightwatchers adrenal GAPS Paleo candida. My healing began to surface during my last two diets, but the relapses were common, and discouraging to me. A close friend gifted my a copy of THM knowing both myself & sisters were struggling with health. weight issues or both. I devoured it in a week and began to implement immediately b/c I already had a THM friendly pantry.
But nothing changed...zippo. No weight loss, no health help, just limbo. My friend & mentor gave me some amazing encouragement & starter tips, and slowly I began to FEEL better! Then when I lost my first five pounds I realized my body had been in carb starvation mode. I still had bouts with gut candida issues to heal, but healing came as I began to lose 1-2 pounds a month. I kept tweaking the plan, and focusing on the supplemental and hormone balance found in chapters 31-34.
THM has not been a "one size fits all" for me. I have had to implement many personal tweaks for my gut, and adrenal issues. It has been a journey with amazing health and wellness!
Rereading the book periodically has been critical to my learning & success. Implementing something new from the book monthly has aided greatly in healing and weight loss. Avoiding wheat, and reduced use of almond products was another discovery that helped immensely. Trying a new THM recipe each week and converting our family favorite recipe to THM helped prevent falling off the wagon train time and time again! Implementing the drink recipes earthmilk canary shrinker and FSF have also been HUGE aids in weight loss. "Twenty ounces a day makes mama smile when she weighs" is my THM drink mantra!
