Curious how to tackle a book like. . . all 500+ pages of Trim Healthy Mama?!? There are two options that I have found very successful!
1) take it to Office Max & have it split in half dividing it where recipes begin. They will put both parts in a spiral with plastic covers for approx $10.
a) Now that the book is divided into to parts start with Book A reading all "white print" skipping the chit chat boxes.
b) Then go back and reread the chit chats (have fun just imagining the sisters kayute Aussie accents!).
c) Third, read through the Meal chapters skimming the recipes making notes or recipe cards with abbreviated recipes for your everyday use.
d) Then read chapters 31-34 and make a shopping list of any supplements that you think that your body may need to have healthy weight loss. NOTE: if your body has underlying health issues that would interfere with weight loss, this is necessary before starting the THM food plan officially.
e) Finally, finish reading the rest of the book, wrapping up the final chapters.
OR......2) you can keep your whole & tackle it in 5 layers (see below)
HOW TO READ/STUDY THM:
1) make a cuppa Bulletproof coffee & skim read thru book all "white print" only skipping recipes & dark print chitchat bubbles.
Better than Bullet Proof Coffee (S -fat fueled)
a mug full of organic coffee (candida needs decaf)
2 Tbs organic heavy cream or half and half
a mix of approved THM sweeteners to taste (homemade "sweetblend" of monkfruit or stevia, and equal parts xylitol and erythritol)
1 tsp Whey protein poweder ISOLATE (not concentrate)
1 tsp coconut oil (I like Carrington Farms liquid MCT oil from Walmart best b/c it is lightest in flavor) and/or 1 tsp grassfed butter like Kerrygold (found at most Walmarts)
Tbs of grass fed gelatin (Great Lakes is best, but I often use Now beef gelatin for economy)
pinch of Real Salt brand mineral salt
2) make a Fat Stripping Frappa (book recipe and add Macaroot powder) & read through meal type chapters & super foods chapter excluding "Dark print" Pearl & Serene chit chat bubbles.
3) make a glass of Earthmilk (I add coconut milk and pineapple or banana extract) & read through recipes to learn "how to" convert recipes to E or S making "shorthand" recipes out of all the ones you want to cook. In other words make traditional style recipe cards out of them NON discussion style like they are in book also make a master THM ingredients shopping list with sources noted in book.
4) make a hot cuppa Shrinker & read thru all the Sister chit chat dark print...this is fun! see recipe here:
